Hidden Gem in The Rows Positive: The location was absolutely perfect for daytime shopping and night-time adventures. It was modern, clean and welcoming with everything needed for self-catering. The beds were comfortable and pillows soft, and plenty of storage. The heating took some time to adjust but was toasty warm soon enough. We had an issue with the lock but was able to get in contact with somebody, who was very helpful. The steps leading up to the property would be a concern for young families or older people, but were fine for us (even after a few wines!) Would definitely go back :) Negative: The shower was too hot! Might be OK for some, though.

Positive: Perfect central location Negative: We were informed only shortly before arrival that one of the toilets was out of order and advised not to use it, with assurances that a plumber had been arranged. However, upon arrival, the main toilet in one of the flats had not been flushed and contained a large faeces, which was both unhygienic and unacceptable. This left only the en-suite toilet available, which was inconvenient for our group. More concerning was the discovery of a discarded bag in the living room containing what appeared to be remnants of Class A drugs. This was deeply troubling, especially as we had children staying with us. We raised these issues with the owners, who offered a 5% discount on a future stay with Polka Stays. Given the seriousness of the concerns, we escalated the matter to Booking.com, who provided a substantial refund. While the location and facilities were otherwise good, due to the hygiene, safety issues encountered and a lack of accountability from Polka Stays, we would not choose to stay with Polka Stays again in the future.

Would not recommend until issues sorted and a deep clean done Positive: Good location Negative: The apartment was dirty appeared not to be cleaned smelt like cigarettes and an off odour, there was a nail hanging out the wall, the floor was unlevelled and cracked throughout. The furniture in the lounge was outdated and had 2 broken chairs, we had to wash all the kitchen ware before using as it was dirty. We had to go buy cleaning products just to make it somewhat fit for purpose. We were staying with two children and it wasn’t safe.
